The key is not just to learn different strategies and techniques to attract more clients in order to increase your income but also to have the ability to attract the type of clients you want and who will pay you the fees you want, whenever you want. A truly amazing skill to have in your repertoire is to be able to attract the right kind of clients.
1. Figure out what your market really wants:
Steps to help you do this:
Visibility alone will not give you the impetus you need to secure clients to your liking. Only getting your word across about your product will not be enough.
Most customers have a pretty good idea of what their needs are and what they need to buy.
They will not buy articles merely because you think they need them; they buy items that they want to.
A customer buys cigarettes not because they need them but because they want to. No one really needs a 40" flat screen TV but people still buy them. Unless your offerings match up to meet the wants of the market, securing the right kind of clients in good numbers will be difficult.
So you've got to keep a close tab on the market and figure out what it is that the market really wants.
2. Focus on the people who have raised their hands:
Focus on people who have already expressed an interest in your product, instead of trying to sell it to everybody. You must then develop a method of converting them into business that pays
3. See people as people:
Most often an image of your client being special or in any other way different from yourself may keep you from promoting yourself or your product. The fact is that they are people just like yourself. They have the same bodily functions, emotions and needs, as yourself. Keeping this in mind will not only help you increase your confidence when speaking to others but will also help you to relate to their needs better.
4. There is nothing personal about rejection:
If someone rejects whatever it is that you're offering, you must know that it is not you that they are rejecting. It is the service or product that you're offering, whatever the reason. Being aware of this will help you approach others openly, honestly and confidently.
5. Getting new clients is about relationship and not about selling:
The key to a successful sale is an immediate relationship with the client. This can be achieved by being sincere, kind and compassionate and to have a keen belief in the product or services you provide. Focusing on selling the product to people will not do. Rather, focus on building a relationship with your client; and that will help you achieve great success.
